This arboreal insect—the weaver (Oecophylla smaragdina), commonly known as the green ant, has long been an important part of Aboriginal culture, and its high dose of Vitamin C excretions are safe for human consumption when licking this ant. I love this photo as one of the weaver ants pulled his fellow ant along the wooden beam as he was obviously injured.
