I was photographing night shots of the Marina at Long Beach California on a very calm night and happened to walk by this shot. I thought it looked like a perfect 1920's travel poster. The orange skies are from the mercury lamps by the hundreds that light the extensive port operations nearby. It was just the right color to compliment the smoke stacks on the old girl.
