This was taken whilst on holiday in Hawaii. I had set myself a project to photograph the flora of Hawaii for a photobook.Time

There is a trick to photographing plants in the wild and that is to use a flash gun. By doing this you are exposing for the flower using your aperture and the flash power and the background exposure is determined by the shutter speed. This is how I managed to get the dark background and the flower popping from the image.Equipment
