Location
This photograph was taken from a helicopter over Glacier National Park in Montana. This was an exciting adventure flying over this beautiful area and was thrilled with this capture. I am a self taught photographer and enjoy capturing the beauty that surrounds us every day!Time
This shot was taken mid-day in July. It was a challenging shot not only because of the movement of the helicopter, but through the window as well. Shots from another angle had the helicopter blade visible in the frame.Lighting
Since there was plenty of sunlight, I had to make some adjustments so the photo would not be washed out.Equipment
This was a hand held shot with my Sony DSC H-200.Inspiration
As we approached this side of the mountain, I saw the two lakes coming into view. While I took several shots of them, this one was my favorite with the mountains and lakes centered nicely and the lower lake lush with deep greens.Editing
Except for adjusting the deepness of shadows using Picasa, I believe this is direct from camera. The color may have been enhanced slightly as well here in ViewBug.In my camera bag
Since this is a bridge camera, my camera bag is quite small. I normally have my tripod along but couldn't bring it on the helicopter.Feedback
My advise is always...keep clicking!! When an opportunity comes along to capture this kind of landscape beauty, composition is always my first goal. Developing an "eye" for a shot comes with lots of practice so I tend to take lots of shots of an area til I feel I've captured the perfect combination of what I see. Happy "clicking" everyone!!
