Visited Pompeii in January 2006, on a drizzly, rainy day, with Vesuvius in the background rarely poking its head out. However, due to the rain,the amount of people about was limited, and it allowed me to capture shots not normally possible, and helped bring out the eerie, shimmering beauty that the name Pompeii invokes. Still one of my family's favorite places to have visited.
