I took this photo of the iconic Louvre Pyramids during a trip to Paris, France a few years back. I've been lucky enough to travel to Paris a couple of times, and hope to go back again soon! It's such a beautiful city, even in the rain. Just beyond the glass and metal pyramids is the charming Tuileries Garden, and of course surrounding the pyramids is the monumental Louvre museum.Time
This is definitely one of my favourites photos taken during this trip. I can recall it was mid-morning, my fiancee and myself had been walking around the streets of Paris exploring the city and decided to peruse the grounds at the Louvre. You really get lost in the beauty of Paris, and can completely lose track of time. We found ourselves wandering a lot, not really keeping a precise schedule but we made sure to make the most of our time in Paris.Lighting
There is only a little natural light peaking through the clouds, which cast a shadow of the pyramids reflecting against the large wet paving stones surrounding the grounds. I really love the reflection of the pyramids created by the natural light and shadows!Equipment
This photo was taken with my Pentax Optio M40, no other equipment was used.Inspiration
It had been raining on and off that day, and the sky was very grey and overcast. As anyone who has been to Paris knows there's always tourists around rain or shine, so getting a clear shot can be extremely tricky. This photo is actually a lucky shot, the timing was perfect, literally seconds after taking the photo a large group of tourists appeared. I remember thinking what great composition, I need to get this shot before it's too late, and it was a good hunch!Editing
I will edit some of my photos using a number of different photo editing applications. This particular photo did not need much editing, I only adjusted the contrast and exposure slightly. In my camera bag
I am an amateur photographer so I do not own any special photography equipment, I have one Pentax camera and my Samsung Galaxy phone, but I hope to get a new camera soon and have been shopping around. I'm also looking into some photography classes!Feedback
If your looking to capture something similar the best recommendation I can make would to be patient, sometimes getting the perfect shot takes time especially in popular locations. Having a steady hand is also important if you do not own a tripod, and of course practise makes perfect! If you are unsure of what photo editing app to use I recommend Snapseed, it's my go to app for editing my photos!
