I have researched this fly - I've gotten a few captures of this kind. They are quite big, large eyes, very large dark blue, (round-oval)
abdomens with long bristles on the body. The closest I've come to what they could be is in the Tachinidae Species but still couldn't find an image that was really quite the same. Mind you there are around 120,000 species of flies that Science has identified. If anyone has any idea, would love to know, Thanks so much, Gail

I think it is called a "Flesh Fly" Sapcophaga sp, not sure. Awesome capture.
