I hate the narcissistic selfie culture in which we live these days. Every time I go on social media I am confronted by young people (mainly girls) posting very poor low quality images of themselves sporting the "trout pout" and dodgy poses in a bad attempt to make them look sexy.. If only i could reach through the computer screen and shake some sense into them, id tell them to grow up and start worrying about the destruction of the planet rather than how they look. Anyway, like I said, i hate selfies. This though, was more of a challenge to me. I had never attempted a self portrait before and i honestly had no idea how difficult it would be to try and get a good focus and positioning of the light. This being my first attempt, i dont think its too bad. I like the way the light really shows up my developing wrinkles and stubble. The rather harsh fall off creates almost a bad mood feel to the image, which the people that know me well will agree that i do often have a short temper. I am looking forward to playing around with different light sources and modifiers to create selfies expressing different moods.
