I went to high school in an Jewish school. They had an old hospital as a building. I was bought an amaryllis by my mom and I planted it when I got the flower in the mail. Every day I would take a picture of it to show my family how much it has grown. Eventually everything grew well and it turned out to look like this picture. The picture is of the flower when two parent buds are hugging and a small baby flower is there by their side.

The photo was taken in my boarding school as my first photo uploaded to the site. I was taking photos of the flower as it was opening and growing. This photo with an "Instagram style filter" was taken and I loved the lighting produced.Time
The photo was taken around 1pm after a workout and when I went to water it.Lighting
The lighting was nathrsl sunlight.Equipment
I just used a Nexus 4 for the image.Inspiration
My inspiration was just seeing how the plant grew.Editing
I threw a filter on the photoIn my camera bag
I usually have a Nikon d3300 with a sigma 18-35 mm lens and a minotla 80-200mm lens with an adapter. I also carry a uv filter/lens protector and a polarizer. I carry around 3 memory cards and a tripod that extends to about 75 inches.Feedback
My advice to others trying to create something similar is just to have an open mind when shooting and just try your hardest to nail the lighting. This photo took me 5 attempts before I got this one. The photo was hard to take without being in the shadow background. I only used natural light, so if you need to, just move your object over to the windowed area and just take the image. You can also use a background if needed.
