Behind The Lens
Location
My family and I were out enjoying the Arizona Salt River, and while they took off on the boat I decided to stay behind and take some pictures. The sun was still up when i started my journey. This picture was one of the last ones of the night before i had to get back to my motherly duties! I was actually waiting for them to pull the boat up to the shore when i took this last minute shot!Time
the last light of the sun set! i believe it was spring time in ArizonaLighting
I didn't do anything special for the lighting. My Flash was on auto for some reason, so thats why you can see the grass up front. I'm glad it was though because otherwise it would probably have been just a black blob in the corner! I really feel the detail of the grass helps make the picture. So accidents are a good thing!Equipment
I used my Olympus E-510 and my flash on accident!Inspiration
the view itself inspired me to take this picture. Arizona has some of the most beautiful sunsets and i was lucky enough to be blessed with this one! I see it as a right place, right time. I don't have time to go hunting for the perfect places to take pictures. So i take them when i can get them!Editing
I have just recently started messing around with my pictures. This picture is not one of them. I enjoy the rawness of my photos and when I look at them I seem to go back to that day. I can feel that day again without looking at it knowing I messed around with it.In my camera bag
well at the moment i have no bag to put things in! Yeah i know, i'm talking crazy talk. I received my Olympus as a gift after i broke my true love. To be honest I really haven't fallen in love with this camera. So that could be a reason i don't have an actual bag for it, or any lenses or accessories. Basically it serves it's purpose right now, so i can take pictures of my children growing up and the occasional artsy picture when my eye catches something worth taking a picture of. This camera seems to have a mind of it's own and really has a way of making me angry with it!Feedback
Have your camera with you wherever you go when your outside! If something catches your eye, take a shot or 3. I wish i had some compelling advice for people, but I just do what I feel comes naturally. I see the picture with my naked eye and then capture it. Lighting is the only thing that can get in the way. Just because my eye sees it lit one way doesn't mean the lens will see it the same way! I'm also big on the natural frame of a picture. It's what draw's me to other people's pictures and to my own.
