Behind The Lens

Location

While staying for a time in Maryland, we decided to take a hike at Susquehanna State Park in Havre de Grace, MD. As we were walking along the river we came across these railroad tracks. It reminded me of a time long gone, obviously no longer in use. If anyone is in the are I highly recommend the visit with over 15 miles of hiking trails along the Susquehanna River.

Time

This was taken sometime mid-afternoon.

Lighting

I didn't use any flash, it was natural light.

Equipment

This was taken several years ago, but I believe it was a Canon Rebel.

Inspiration

I took this picture because I enjoy capturing history. The railroad shows that the old way of travel has been changed by the modern age. If we don't capture the past it could be lost forever!

Editing

Being an armature photographer, I have done no editing on this photo, what you see is what you get. :)

In my camera bag

Besides the obvious camera, I also carry 2 lenses and lots of memory cards. :) I also have filters, but am still learning on how to use them. On occasion I also have a small tripod

Feedback

If you stop by my ViewBug site you will notice that I love to take mostly nature photos. My advice for others would be, if you see anything that perks your interest, don't be afraid to snap a picture. Take several, maybe different angles. If you are into history, snap away, what you see today may be gone by tomorrow. Most of all, have fun and make a lot of memories!
