The photo of this Magnolia flower was taken at the Botanical Gardens in Norfolk, Virginia.Time
While exploring the gardens in the mid-afternoon hours I spotted this one flower just hanging down lower that all of the others. I just had to capture it's beauty.Lighting
I am currently learning about the use of lighting but most of the time I just find a subject and snap pictures.Equipment
I use a Canon EOS REBEL T3 and the shutter speed was 1/160.Inspiration
When I saw this flower it looked a bit mysterious, how the top side was still turned down covering the center while the bottom was wide open for all to see.Editing
No I didn't do any post-processing. I try not to make changes to any of my photos, I like the what you see is what you get.In my camera bag
The equipment is pretty simple, I have my Canon EOS REBEL T3, Canon Zoom Lens EF-S 18-55 mm and for those shots that are farther away Canon Zoom Lens EF 75-300 mm. I also make sure to bring extra SD cards.Feedback
I am just an armature photographer self taught that does this for fun. My advice for others would be to look for subjects that catch your eye. Take several photos from different angles and distances. You never know which one will be the best. Most of all, just have fun with what you're doing!
