Great food photo, nice composition and lightning. The only issue I have is about cutting the dish borders and maybe the aspect ratio, I would have kept the 3:2 format without cutting the edges of the dish.

I like to experiment in food photo which also provides me opportunity to discover different dishes and uplift my cooking skills. As we had a small apartment and I couldn't dedicate any space on it for my hobby I equipped our balcony in my Kyiv apartment for itTime
One of the inspiration I had (and have it still) is still life paintings where the combination of food and flowers and especially backdrops create a mood. However as I didn't have a speedlight I had to wait for special light condition in my balcony to achieve required light setup. And it was one of such days. I woke up and went to early morning walk with my dog. On the way I gathered chamomiles and was completely ready for shot. At 1 pm the right light condition came to my West part of house I made a shot.Lighting
The idea of light is to create creamy look background and well exposed main hero. Also as to keep tender look it should be shallow shadows from objects which was realized by using reflectors.Equipment
It was Nikon D7000 and 50 mm Nikon lens. Also 2 reflectors.Inspiration
As I mentioned already the biggest inspiration is still life painting, so I tried to replicate the concept but experimenting with frame position (vertical vs usual horizontal)Editing
Yep. It was not a lot. I made white balance correction in Camera raw and lightening the background a bit. Also I removed some destruction dots from backdrops.In my camera bag
It was some time ago and I changed my regular kit already. Currently I have Nikon D850 with zoom lens kit (14-24, 24-70, 70-200) to cover all my need. Although my favorite is 70-200 I usually use 24-70 for food photo or even my all friend 50 1.4. Definitely good idea is to have proper tripod and tripod head. And I'm still not a big fun of speedlights.Feedback
Experimenting is a good way to find what is appeal for you. And the equipment is not a big stopper, yes it helps to make it faster but the rest is done by you. Invest in your education in photo and art and have a good plan for at least 3 months ahead to practice.
