Western Painted Turtle is most northerly occurring turtle in North America. Native to BC's southern interior but live as far north as Golden BC. It is the only native pond turtle left in British Columbia.
These northern populations are unique because the turtles grow faster, grow larger, mature slower, reproduce less often but make more eggs. They need protection! see " bcreptiles.ca " for more info
