wreckage grab of SmitTak-Boskalis.
At the time probably the biggest grab of the world. You can lift up whole ship-wrecks with it. This grab is operated with use of a huge floating derrick-crane f.i. the TakLift7 (a huge 1200 tons floating sheerleg crane) or an other floating sheerleg.
This huge wire operated wreckage grab is used with the Floating sheerleg SmitTak4 to lift the wreck of the Tricolore in 2004.
At the time I took the image I was buzzy writing a coarse book for SmitTak to instruct the personal operating this kind of floating sheerleg cranes and maritime operations.

This is Real! The grab is used to lift shipwrecks. This huge grab is probably the biggest in the world and owned by Boskalis/Smit maritime salvage to clear up shipping lanes in the Schelde river mouth and near Rotterdam harbor. Once I wrote the course for salvage personal to handle this thing.
