Location
This image was taken in Margaret river, Western AustraliaTime
It was taken around lunchtime, my friends dog was making a commotion around their pool when I saw this little guy keeping out of reach.Lighting
There was a fire not far to the north, so the light wasn't to harsh but I was still able to use a higher shutter speed.Equipment
I used my trusty Nikon D750 and tamron 16-300 mm lens.Inspiration
I had been searching for a frog to snap for the previous three days, with limited success when this chance encounter made the trip worth while.Editing
Yes as I shoot in raw I usually need to add some colour back into the image, I also usually tweak the exposure curve if I under or over exposed. Photoshop is my go to for processing. In my camera bag
Right now I only have a limited kit bag, one spare battery, a lens cloth, HOYA digital filter, a Nikon fisheye lens and spare memory cards.Feedback
Researching the critters you want to capture really helps to get a better shot, knowing the location and habitats of your subject can be beneficial, although a degree of luck is usually involved in capturing wild animals. Also research other images of similar animals to see what you like but most importantly add your own creative flare.
