I took this photo on my house in Mexico City. I left my birds free on my home and tried to photograph them. After a couple of hours I was available to capture them as one of them tried to cuddle with the other. They spent a couple of minutes together before they started flying again, never the less those couple of minutes were worth the wait, thanks to the prefect light conditions that brought my shot to life, giving me that perfect backlight that brought my subject apart from the background.Time
I took the photo late in the afternoon around 6 pm, when the sun gave me the prefect light for my shot, bringing out the details contrasts on the bird's feathers.Lighting
I was searching for a back light, that would bring my subject apart from the background and to bring as much details as posible in the feathers. Late in the afternoon the light conditions for the photo were perfect, the light was in the back of the subject and a tree gave me the prefect background and contrast to avoid over exposition.Equipment
For this photo I used my Cannon EOS70D with a 18-135mm f-3.5-5.6.Inspiration
I love animas, and sometimes we do not se the beauty in common animals, or we get use to them so I wanted to show the beauty of a every day animal, to remind us of how magnificent they are and therefore we stop taking every day beauty for granted.Editing
I only flipped the photo everything else is unedited. In my camera bag
I usually have a CANON EOS70D, a 50mm f-1.4, 18-135mm f-3.5-5.6 and a 70-300mm f-4-5.6 and a tripod. plus extra batteries and memory sticksFeedback
Always try to get the light on the back (not directly on de back unless you want to create a silhouette) of your subject but look for a dark background to avoid those lights that will over expose your photo. trie to find a light that creates a golden silhouette around your subject to bring him apart from the background. open your diaphragm to blur the background and get all the attention on your subject.
