This photo was taken in the home of my sweet friend who was holding her great great grandaughter. My friend was in her 90's at the time this was taken, she was a hard woking woman all of her life. And her hands show it. When it comes to taking photos I am self taught. I loved watching the two interacting together and couldn't help but take this picture of the very young and very old. What a contrast to see soft pink tiny hands next to hands that were old and wrinkled.Time
This was taken about 3 in the afternoon, indoors. Great afternoon light on the south west side of the house.Lighting
The room had great natural lighting due to the large windows. I like to use natural lighting as much as possible. Most of my pictures are outdoors as I enjoy nature shoots the most.Equipment
My Nikon D80 hand held. I don't use a tripod as much as I probably should, because I like to get pictures from alot of different angles, in some cases I'm on my knees and elbows.Inspiration
The baby in this picture was named after her great great grandmother who is holding her. Who was very special to me. This family has been part of my life for over 40 years and they are closer than some of my own family.Editing
I did crop the picture just a little to get the focus on the hands and babies fingers. But I did very little else to the picture. In my camera bag
I have my Nikon D2X that usually has my Nikkor 17-55mm lens on it. Then my Nikon D80 with a Nukkor 70-300mm lens. These are my two main lens I use. I have other lens but these two are used the most.Feedback
Just keep shooting. I will take lots of shots to capture that special moment. Like I said I'm self taught and I'm still learning and growing. Look at other peoples photos to get idea's and learn from them.
