Location
This photo was taken a top of Machu Pichu mountain, one of the World Wonders, at a sunrise.Time
This photo was taken at a sunrise. We've climbed up while it was still dark and waited. That day, the fog filled the valley, so the ruins were virtually invisible. I've waited for an hour before the fog started to clear, taking this picture at a mid-way point, when the morning fog has lifted but has not completely dissipated yet.Lighting
Nothing extra special about the light, just waiting for the moment when the sun and the fog compliment each other.Equipment
This was shot with Nikon D90 with 18-200 lensInspiration
This is an iconic shot of Machu Pichu, so I couldn't miss it while on travel in Peru. But the morning fog gave that extra special feel of mystique and wonder.Editing
This is what kids call #nofilter these days.In my camera bag
I generally travel with Nikon D90 and my trusted travel lens 18-200mm, which gives me a diversity to shoot anything that comes my way in the jungle. I also carry a backup lens, mostly a prime (either 35mm or 50mm) and an external flash. Depending on the location, I may bring a small tripod, but more often than not, I shoot on a go.Feedback
Perhaps the most commonly given tip for photographers - be patient. Machu Pichu is 12,000 ft up in the air and is generally full of tourists. Wait for that perfect shot when the natural light highlights the beauty of the place and where you don't have a tourist family in bright orange hats in your shot.
