Prime lens is my usual choice as it gives you more creativity in my opinion, as well as better quality. I used very high ISO ( 5000 or 6400, don't remember exactly ) and quite a wide aperture - f2 if i remember correctly. as it was a narrow room i needed to really put my self low on the ground next to the wall to be able to focus it, of course the focus was manual, as it is quite hard to precisely focus trough the viewfinder, i used Live View mode.
