This picture was taken in my flower garden.Time
It was taken in late afternoon. It was a bit cloudy out.Lighting
This was done in natural light.Equipment
Canon 60D, Sigma DC 17-70mm 2.8-4 Macro HSM, HandheldInspiration
I had bought my first macro lens and I was checking out my flower garden when I saw this bee going from flower to flower. I wondered if I can get the bee head deep into the flower. I had only use my macro setting on my camera and I love to take flower shoots, but not too many with insects but I like bee, well especially knowing that they are losing numbers in this world, and I know how important they are. I love honey too.Editing
This image was shot in raw and I only converted to jpeg at 100%.In my camera bag
In my bag, I keep all my lens (my kit lens *18-200mm, and 50mm 1.8 and macro), Polarizer filter, camera manual, glasses cloth, extra battery, snack, bug spray and sunscreen.Feedback
It pays to observe the action of bees or other insects in your garden or any garden for that matter first. Get low and close as possible to the bee on the flower. My focus was on the bee and I recomposed to get in the flower. I tried to keep in the mind the rule of thirds. I thought this flower provided a nice soft blue complementary colour which made the bee stand out more.
