Location
The shot was taken in the "Salinas Grandes", one of the greatest depressions near Purmamarca, Jujuy - Argentina. An exposed surface of over 12,000 hectares of salt, 126km from Purmamarca. I was travelling From Argentina to Chile.Time
It was close to midday, but since in the "Salinas" there is no vegetation there are no shadows. The sticks in the photo were an isolated exception which I could not explain, may be because I was near the route.Lighting
Was a good sunny day. In the presence of a vast white blanket, eyes need dark glasses, ... so does the camera.Equipment
Just my good old Nikon D80 with its standard lens, nothing especial about the equipment.Inspiration
I was inspired by the magnitud of such a while desert, but needed a place to focus the eyes.Editing
My current interest is in the post capture creative process. It is a search for colours and forms that emanate from my inside, often completely unrelated to the original subject. Brush in hand, the journey of image transformation is an art form of its own. Colours and shapes are transformed again and again until the time when a solution emerges, sometimes with a tremendous eureka effect; almost orgasmic. The journey from photographic camera to canvas, my creative journey. In my camera bag
Nikon body, now a D750, one or two lens, and a mini tripod.Feedback
Walk, walk, walk and let your imagination free.
