Location
Taken in South America, Argentina, near Ushuaia, the most southerly town in the world . The Desdemona, now a ship wreck, apparently ran aground in the early 1980's overloaded with too many bags of cement and got stuck on the sand-bar. Rumor has it that that it was an ‘insurance job'.Time
We drove early in the morning from Ushuaia, we had numerous stops and it was mid afternoon when we reached the coast where the ship wreck rests.Lighting
Light conditions in the southern part of South America change constantly. You might aim for an early morning twilight and find that it was best at midday.Equipment
My good old Nikon D80 with a 18-105mm. Good lighting conditions, no need for flash or tripod.Inspiration
The sky turbulence as an envelope to the devastation of human presence in an isolated area, all witness by the local 'owner', a composition which was not altogether present while taking the picture, but in the aftermath of image transformation came to light as a flash, a creative trip, a delight.Editing
Yes, as I do always. My current interest is in the post capture creative process. It is a search for colours and forms that emanate from my inside, often completely unrelated to the original subject. In my camera bag
Nikon D80, small 18-105mm and 70-300mmFeedback
Brush in hand, the journey of image transformation is an art form of its own. Colours and shapes are transformed again and again until the time when a solution emerges, sometimes with a tremendous eureka effect; almost orgasmic. The journey from photographic camera to canvas, my creative journey.
