My first motobike - 2016 Indian Scout Sixty

At 49 I'm probably a little long in the tooth to be learning to ride motorbikes, but thats exactly what I am doing. Last week I took the Motorcycle Safety Course, which I passed, so now I have a motorcycle endorsement on my drivers licence and my wonderful hubby has helped me pick out my first motorbike.

We did the tour of all the dealerships, trying different bikes on for size, but with 3 Indians already, I knew where we would probably end up, and I wasn't disappointed. The 'little' Scout Sixty has a 61cu inch-1000cc engine and weighs 561lbs with a full tank of gas. She's definitely no crotch rocket, but she is exactly what I wanted. A mid-sized cruiser that I can have some fun on and tour around taking in the wonderful countryside around me.

Taking the selfie with the bike was kind of fun, but I think this turned out pretty good.

I now look forward to practising what I have learned so far, improving on my skills and becoming a better rider each time I go out.....Heading for some nice quiet spots to start with though.
