Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture at St Augustine beach in Florida. I must have taken forty pictures of this sunrise in the hopes of getting a few I loved! This one I love! As an amateur, that is a valuable lesson I learned, take multiple shots!

Time

Sunrise in July, 2012. My hands aren't the steadiest so I sat on the sand and put my elbows on my knees to steady the camera.

Lighting

Love the shadows created at this moment in the sunrise.

Equipment

I used a Canon powershot SX 130 IS for this picture. I have found this camera to take marvelous low light pictures.

Inspiration

I have always enjoyed taking sunrise and sunset pictures because of all the beautiful colors in the sky.

Editing

No editing was done on this photo, the camera mode was set to low light conditions.

In my camera bag

At the moment, I am happy using my point and shoot automatic with just changing the shooting mode occasionally. Therefore, in my camera bag all you will see is an extra camera battery and a small lens cleaning kit.

Feedback

As I said earlier, I think taking multiple shots is the best approach. I like to alter prospectives too. Sitting, standing, kneeling, try it all!
