Oh, those eyes. What a precious little girl. You captured her so beautifully.

Location
I took this photo outside my studio location here in Kentucky...This is Raelynn my 2 year old cousin and I was taking her Easter Photos.Time
I took this around 2 pm where there was harsh sunlight in most locations, but I found a more shaded spot on the side of the building.Lighting
On the left side of the building, there was both enough shade to block out the harsh sun yet enough light coming through to highlight Rae's gorgeous eyes.Equipment
I used my Nikon D750 along with my 24-85mm f/3.5-5.6 lens and I handheld the camera.Inspiration
Rae is such a beautiful model! I am a portrait photographer who loves faces. I had photographed Raelynn previously and knew that I would want some nice close-up shots to showcase her eyes. She is a wonderful and very sweet child and I wanted her sweetness and innocence to shine.Editing
I later edited the photo in Lightroom, but there was not much that needed to be done. I sharpened her eyes and softened her skin a bit for a more delicate look.In my camera bag
I always have my 24-85mm f/3.5-5.6 lens, my 50 mm f/1.8 lens along with my tripod, UV filters, and reflectors. I think that this particular photo would have turned out even better with the 50mm lens because I would have gotten a nice bokeh in the background, however, I already had my other lens mounted and I didn't want to miss the shot.Feedback
Fill your frame!!! The closer you can get in there with your subject, the better detail you will get. If you are working with one subject and have a prime lens with a wide aperture, try using that. You may have to get physically closer to your subject using a prime lens, however, the results will be amazing...especially if you are looking for lots of detail in the face.
