Beautiful blending of colors and form. Well used selective focusing.

Location
This photo was taken at the Ottawa Tulip festival a few days before it started.Time
I got up early to avoid the crowds and get great light. I think it was around 6:30 am. By the time I left I was muddy and the crowds were just starting up around 9 ish.Lighting
Avoid harsh lighting on flowers - I like to use a diffuser to help avoid shadows.Equipment
This was shot with a canon 6d and a tokina 100mm f2.8 (The older one with the orange ring) A diffuser,Inspiration
I am really interested in a shallow depth of field and simple lines. I love the simplicity of tulips right before they bloom.Editing
Just some sharpening and cropping. In my camera bag
Canon 6d, tokina 100mm f2.8, canon 7d mkii, canon 100-400, kenko extension tubes, ND filter, Canon 24-70 f4, extra batteries, extra sd cards, tripod with manfrotto geared head,Feedback
When shooting flowers avoid harsh lighting, watch your background, sit down - try be eye level with the flower.
