The "sunken church" - so it is known. 60 years ago it was a full-time temple for the local village. Then Communism came and it was decided that three villages should be flooded in order to make a dam. Today the dam, Zhrebchevo dam, bears the name of the biggest village that rests beneath its waves and the St. John of Rila church is the only thing that's left from the three villages.
