Behind The Lens

Location

In my house. My Mum received a beautiful bunch of flowers and I saw this orange lily and had to take a picture of it.

Time

Around midday.

Lighting

I always feel natural lighting is best as flash drowns out the background light of an image so this image definitely looks better with natural lighting.

Equipment

I used a Sony a58 with a 18 - 55mm lens.

Inspiration

It was around March and spring was coming around and all of the flowers were starting to blossom. I thought it would be nice to take an image of the flower to show spring was well and truly here.

Editing

I made the image a bit brighter and cropped it slightly but not much post processing was required.

In my camera bag

I have my Song a58 as well as a number of lens: 18 -55mm lens, Sigma 35 - 75mm, Tamron 70 - 210mm and Minolta 28 - 80mm lens.

Feedback

To try and get as close as possible to the subject. I really wanted to capture the very centre of the flower and try and make it as detailed as possible.
