Location
Brooklyn Bridge Park, it's on the Brooklyn side of the waterfront park along the East River in New York City. The Brooklyn bridge spans from Brooklyn into lower Manhattan. This photograph was taken while I was experimenting and still learning how to use my camera. Basically, most of my lessons are self taught by trial and error.Time
Wow!, it was taken on July 18, 2010. Not quite sure I remember, but after looking at my photograph. I kind of recall, loving the texture of the clouds that day. Because their were gray instead of white, also they were thick, dense and the low level of the clouds. So, it must of been a very cloudy day.Lighting
Well, my thought was that I wanted the grey of the clouds to stand out. Having the colors ( brown, bronze and tan) of the Brooklyn bridge's tower enhance the main focus of the photograph. The natural lighting of the overall clouds gave me a fantasy idea, "Looming horizon" image I wanted to capture.Equipment
In 2010 I purchase my first dslr camera. The camera was a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT. The setting were ƒ/13.0, 25.0 mm, 1/320, 400 and no flash. Lens - Canon 18-55mm.Inspiration
I always wanted to photograph the Brooklyn bridge. Mainly photographing it while walking on the bridge, but that day I didn't get the chance to walk the bridge. Something I saw inspired the perspective view, that made me decide to photograph the bridge just below the tower. I spotted a homeless person sleeping under the bridge, where the bridge spans into the street. So this person inspired me to pick this angle for the shoot, that they mostly view everday.Editing
Yes, Corel software - PaintShop Pro 6In my camera bag
On that date I know for sure, no equipment was carried. Just my camera, not even a camera bag. These days in my camera bag I have, a neck strap + photo cleaning kit + microfiber cleaning clot + extra battery.+ filter lens and some times a tripod.Feedback
Don't be afraid to experiment with shooting in the RAW format and different angles, it also helps to pay attention to your surroundings. The type of cloud formations can really enhance your shot. Your post process can improve your final look of your photograph.
