Behind The Lens

Location

It was taken at my home. Where I have a mini makeshift studio. Nothing fancy about my mini studio but it works for me.

Time

It was a late afternoon day. But most of the morning into the start of the afternoon I was debating about how to stage this photo. So around 3 o’clock I finally figured it out.

Lighting

I have a single window in my mini studio. Realizing that there was still some natural light coming through the window. I took advantage of it. Setting up my staging of my photo towards the one side of the natural light coming from the window.

Equipment

The equipment I used was a K&F concept tripod, my canon 90D and EFS 17-55mm lens. Also used 2 photography backgrounds, backdrop and tabletop background.

Inspiration

What inspired me to take this photo. I had a narrow neck vase that I always wanted to use. So I brought some orange dye roses. And wanted to use a new photography background for this inspired photo. All these items together gave me an idea for the photo.

Editing

There was little post- processing. Just added a bit more color and some sharpness to the photo.

In my camera bag

Having taken this photo indoors, there was no need for a camera bag. But when I’m outdoors. What I carry in my bag are lens cleaners, portable tripod, some lens filters and an extra battery.
