Location
This photo was shot just outside Cookstown, ON.Time
This photo was taken around 2pm.Lighting
I used the ambient lighting as fill and fired one AlienBee Einstein fitted with a large Octosoftbox as my key light.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D600 with a Nikkor 70-200 2.8Inspiration
I'm slightly obsessed with the free spirited 'Gypsy' life style.Editing
I used Photoshop with a few different Nik Collection textures. In my camera bag
Nikon D3, Nikon D610, 24-70mm 2.8, 70-200mm 2.8, 50mm 1.8. I always carry spare AAA batteries, my cyber commander, light meter, a sheet of black foil, Circular polarizer, ND filter, elastic bands, and some business cards:)Feedback
Learn how to balance ambient with flash. Sometimes the ambient can be your key light with a flash for fill but I usually like to put the models back to the sun and use a flash for my key. I think you have more control of the direction, hardness/softness as well as power.
