Behind The Lens

Location

Scarborough Bluffers Park

Time

Mid Morning

Lighting

Always important to get the main source of light from the rear of the subject whenever possible

Equipment

Nikon D 7000 55-300 mm lens hand held

Inspiration

I was trying to capture this bird around the park without any success and then suddenly there it sat posing perfectly as I walked by and it remained there posing and singing nicely and long enough to grab a few frames

Editing

don;t remember specifically on this picture it all came together, focus, light shutter speed. May adjusted the vibrancy to better reflect the actual colors seen

In my camera bag

Nikon D7000 I now have a 200 - 500 mm lens which to me is new but it is a used lens and it has not come off the camera since except for a few occasions. The 55-300 mm lens was good but was not a fast lens and I could not get close enough as I now can with the 500 mm lens

Feedback

Patience sometimes worth just staying in one place and let the birds come to you. Pay attention to where they are landing feeding, favorite perches and just conceal yourself in these areas and with the fore mentioned patience you should be rewarded
