Location
This photo has been taken at Aquarium du Québec, Quebec city Canada This is a female and a male showing affection.Time
I remember in what conditions i have taken this photo because the temperature was bad, windy and snowy . I had to put my camera and lens under plastic bags and the wind did'nt help . It was mid day if i remember correctly.Lighting
The lightning was not as good as i have hoped for. Sometimes, I was not able to focus on bears because of snow turbulence. They are not quite white but all was white around so i have decided to frame the couple as possible.Equipment
At that time , i have used a Canon 7d2 and a 70-200mm Canon lens with a 2x extender. I have shot without a tripod and without flash.Inspiration
I have seen these bears multiple times before but they did'nt get along well. The female was young and did'nt want to accept the male. I wanted so bad to take a photo showing a little affection. I chose a bad weather day hoping to have some snowflakes in the air but I received a bonus that day...it was the first time i saw them interact in a good way. It was love in every moovesEditing
I had to adjust the lightning a little bit. At that time I was'nt able to see properly on my LCD screen because of snow and majorly because i wear eyeglasses and they were all wet from steam and snow. Thanks to mirrorless camera now . Remember this is a five year old shot.In my camera bag
I usually have in my camera bag :one or two lenses depending on my shooting goal on a specific day. i have also extra batteries and SD cards, a cleaning cloth ,a blowing tool for dirt. I have tripod only in rare occasion. I specialised myself in macrophotography of insects and flowers for many years so i don't forget to have a little banch.Feedback
Be patient, the right moment will come. Don't be affraid to get out when the temperature is not good ...just think to bring some protection for your gear. This photo was one the 50 best Wildlife photgraphy in 2015 at Annual World Photo Organisation Contest and won the 3th place at regional Canada in the same contest.
