Thank you. It was taken from my backyard, where some kids down the street were flying the kite.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photograph was taken from my backyard in West Hills, California

Time

It was in the early morning. Here in Los Angeles there is always a marine layer at the that time of day.. By late morning the sun burns it off.

Lighting

I didn't use any particular lighting not even a flash. Just the daylight.

Equipment

I took the picture using a Nikon Coolpix 100 camera without a tripod and no flash. The f-stop was f/5.6 and the ISO speed was ISO-160, max aperture was 3.

Inspiration

As I watched the kite drifting in the air, it seemed like a fantasy story. Where sky pirates would sail the skies in the mist and fog searching for treasures on the land. A true Flying Dutchman.

Editing

Because the fog made everything a bit too grey, I used Lightroom to brighten up the trees making the green pop a little.

In my camera bag

Just my camera or sometimes a I used my iPhone because I don't have a camera with me.

Feedback

Get up early. LOL. I like to take pictures of everyday things or everyday happenings. Like sailing a kite. In the right moment, it can have a magical appearance.
