Location
Rainbow Trail in the Great Smoky Mountains in TennesseeTime
Late morning early afternoonLighting
I wanted to capture the glow of the forest with the sun coming through the trees illuminating the trail I was hikingEquipment
I used a T5 cannon camera. I used no flash, no equipment, and used the basic 18-55mm lens.Inspiration
There was something different in the forest that day that made me snap shots the entire hike but when I got here and saw the sun through the lens exactly how I saw it through my eyes and sometimes it's so hard to take a picture exactly how you see something. As soon as I saw the shot line up I hit the button.Editing
The picture was taken as isIn my camera bag
I have a few lens, tripod for certain shots, but I mostly just hold my camera and click the button when I see somthing that inspires me and something that whispers inside me "take the picture now." It's all about capturing the split second moment.Feedback
Go out to your favorite place. Somewhere that inspires you to be creative. Don't be afraid to get on the ground, go on your tip toes, or anything that looks silly. Just do with you need to do to get the shot. Look around with your eyes and then when you see something line it up and shoot. Take more than on picture; take a bunch! Because there's always something different in each shot and the 23 picture of the same thing you took could be your favorite.
