Tha photo was taken of the Falls at Lost Creek State Park in Montana. I was out taking pictures with a fellow photographer. Sharing insights and sharing tips. Was trying different shutter speeds to capture the water flow.Time
Because it was still snowy and cold we started our exploration around 11 am. the sun came out and made it a great walk and perfect day for some outdoor winter pictures.Lighting
We got to the falls around noon. With the falls being located in a canyon the noonday sun was perfect for this shot. Provided some great lighting and interesting shadows.Equipment
This was shot with a Canon Rebel T3i and a canon 70-200mm f 2.8 lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
This is a beautiful state park, so we decided it would provide a nice hike as well as several opportunities for pictures. Knew the variety if landscapes and possibly animals would give us several chances to explore and share our ideas on how to shoot the different landscapes and how we would deal with the lighting and distances.Editing
I did minimal adjustments to exposure and contrast with this picture. In my camera bag
I usually have my Rebel T3i and recently added a Canon 40D, along with my Canon 70-200mm f 2.8, Canon 17-55mm f2.8 lenses. I also carry extra cards for the camera, and spare batteries.Feedback
My best advice is to take a few pictures and vary your settings so that you know you'll capture the best shot possible. Alway be aware of changing conditions when you are shooting outside.
