The Blackmailed Godwit's are migratory birds in Holland and used to be very common. Breeding in the fields and meadows in our low country-side. Due to industrialisation and over fertilisation they are becoming rarer and rarer. in 2015 they where declared our national bird as symbol for all the meadow breeders. So seeing more than 30 of them together on a small island in the Starrenplas is a rare treat these days!
