In the early afternoon of 29 February Michael Dwyer went surfing at Dunes Beach (Half Moon Bay State Park). He was swept out to sea. The US Coast Guard helicopter and boats, Sheriff helicopter, State Park Rangers and others searched for him for hours. His body washed ashore a week and a half later.
Michael was the second person to die in these waters while surfing that week.
The ocean is dangerous.
