Night view of Dubai marina, from the 84th floor of the building known as The Torch. I was amazed by the night lights in this country, but most of all by the Dubai Marina and this other building twisting like a modern sculpture.

Location
I took this picture in Dubai. I was there during the recession trying to find a new way of life selling properties in the Dubai Marina. Due to my new job I had the chance to go up to one of the highest buildings, called "The Torch", once the highest residential building in the world with 86 hights. I took this picture from the 84th floor with a compact camera with no other support than the balcony balustrade.Time
It was taken during the night time, it was about 11:00pm.Lighting
With this picture I wanted to engrave my experience in Dubai as I thought it would be the most representative view of this amazing world.Equipment
I used a Panasonic Lumix compact camera, no tripod and no flash. I used the balustrade of the balcony to stabilize and about 8 seconds of exposition. I cheated to the camera to be able to get a good exposure.Inspiration
I thought this was the most representative image of this city of light and 24 hours active.Editing
Yes I did edited this picture giving it more contrast and intensity to colors. In my camera bag
Then I only had that camera but now I have a Canon EOS 760D with a 24-85mm lens a manfroto tripod and a extra battery.Feedback
Explore new places, be patient, try again and again until you are happy with the results. My best pictures were taken on the go whilst going to work or in a sleepless night. If at the editing and post-processing time you find your pictures are not good enough, don't feel defeated! Try again, it will be probably much better now you are more experienced!
