Behind The Lens

Location

Seagrass Beach Resort Samal, Davao del Norte Philippines

Time

Around 5:30 in the afternoon

Lighting

I only used natural light in this particular photo and the lights from the bulb posts. The light was really awesome that sets the mood around the bamboo bridge.

Equipment

I was using my Nikon D3100. Usually with its kit lens 18-55mm most of the time but in this particular photo I used my 50-300mm. Kinda funny coz I did not use my kit lens for a wider angle, but I needed the tight shot of the bridge to fill the frame. Hand held in Manual mode, ISO 800 and in RAW format.

Inspiration

I was with my friends during this time. I was inspired to take this photo when I saw this bridge because it kinda like telling me that friendship would be forever that's why this photo was titled "Road to Forever"

Editing

Yes, I did some little post processing about this photo using Lightroom and Photoshop. I just did some little adjustment on brightness and contrast and saturate a li'l bit to enhance vibrant colors

In my camera bag

My Camera, kit lens (18-55), 50-300mm, and 50mm 1.8 and 1 flash. I don't have much gears.

Feedback

I am no pro-photographer but it does not mean I can't take and make good photos. For amateurs like me, yes we can. Just learn the foundation on how to take photos. The basic ones. Another thing, expensive gears can't make great photos, though it kinda help but what make great photos is how you see and how you feel the moment and how you capture and share the story of your photo. Be creative, be innovative and plan/compose upon taking your shot. For me, I don't rely much on expensive gears. I'll find ways how to take a photo. Since I don't have a tripod, I just squat down, stabilized my elbows on my knees and hold my breath for a seconds to reduce motion and then pressed my shutter. I click my shutter not only because of the pleasant scene, but most of the time I click because it's how I feel at that moment and how I see it.
