This photo is taken in my home in Wisconsin, USA. I am a learner and I always try a new techniques. This is the time I was trying to explore Bokeh and lightingTime
This is a winter night at Wisconsin. It was a snowy evening. It was a late November and all the moods were set for Christmas. We had a Christmas tree set up in our living room and I was experimenting my new Danbo toys. Danbo toys are amazing and fit for any kind of expressions. I set up a tripod and use natural lighting to shoot this imageLighting
I wanted this image to be romantic and colorful. I set up the scene opposite to a LED light source. The toys were backlit by LED Christmas tree lights. I was looking for a better bokeh in the background that gives more romantic mood. There is no other external flash used.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon 7100 with a Nikkor 50mm prime lens. I used a tripod to mount the camera. The background bokeh was created by LED lights from a Christmas tree. The subject used is a pair of DanbosInspiration
I bought a set of Danbos online and I loved them for their expression which suit in all occasions. I was experimenting all ways with them. On a winter evening late November, we were setup the Christmas tree in our living room. The Christmas tree was finished with the colorful LED lights and felt very romantic. With the pair of danbos in my hand, suddenly a spark in my mind set up this scene. I set up a table and put the danbos in place in front of the christmas tree which gave an excellent bokeh. No external flash used instead the scene was set up opposite to a regular LED soft white lamp which gave a golden shade.Editing
I shoot this in RAW. A single shot. Uses manual focusing with a wide open aperture. I used Lightroom and NIX to post process the image and no other tools used.In my camera bag
My bag contains a Nikon 750D and Nikon 7100 bodies with a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 prime, Nikkor 24-105mm, Nikkor 18-55mm and a Nikkor 55-300mm lens. For slow shutter photos, I keep a wired remote shutter. Also I keep 4 Danbo always in my bag. A extra battery for both bodies and a couple of extra memory cards. A Tripod in the side of the bag to capture long exposure clicksFeedback
For low light shots, always use a tripod. Also use an external light source possible. To get a great bokeh, use a prime lense with wide aperture
