Behind The Lens

Location

In College Point, NYC. College Point Fields, adjacent to 130th Street.

Time

Daybreak, just before 7am at the time.

Lighting

There was a fairly dense fog, and the golden sunlight was filtering through it, as it is in the photo.

Equipment

Nikon D7000, with a 28-300 3.5-5.6 VR lens.

Inspiration

I was taking a cab to work, and had been watching the sun come up. As the cab approached the park, I asked the driver to pull over. I took about a half dozen shots and then jumped back in.

Editing

I process everything I shoot with Lightroom. I believe I used LR3 for this image.

In my camera bag

It depends. I have other Nikon bodies, as well as M4/3's gear from Olympus. The latter is better for street and interior.

Feedback

Feel the shot first. Don't just jump in and shoot. Study the frame. Have something to say, or an emotion to convey, with the photo you're about to produce.
