The Milky Way over Ha Ling Peak and Canmore with a crescent moon rising just over the mountains.
April 1st was my first time spending a night on a summit and we lucked out with amazingly clear skies (though it was so windy!). Last year I tried really hard to find someone who would go up a mountain with me so I could shoot the Milky Way. Apparently not a lot of people are into this crazy idea. My friend who came up with me for this shot was having the same problem. So the universe caused our world lines to intersect in the middle of the night at Assiniboine Provincial Park. We were the two crazies who kept checking for clear skies and ended up meeting on the trail to Magog Lake. I can’t wait for more adventures like this. Sleeping (without a tent) under the stars so high up is going in my top ten life experiences.
