Behind The Lens

Location

I shot this on the beach near Carmel-by-the-Sea, California

Time

It was late afternoon and the fog was just rolling in from the Pacific Ocean. We had just finished a walk up the beach to check-out Pebble Beach Golf Course, as the rounds for the 2016 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am were ending for the day.

Lighting

The lighting was getting dim, but the fog and setting sun made for great contrast.

Equipment

I shot this with a Nikon D-80, handheld and no flash.

Inspiration

I loved the look of the tree and the contrast of the sand, fog, and shadows.

Editing

I used a free edit program to change this photo to black and white.

In my camera bag

I shoot most my photos with a D-80 Nikon. I have a Zoom 70mm to 300mm lens and a 18mm to 105mm lens. I carry extra batteries and sd cards always. I also keep cleaning accessories and assorted items in my bag.
