The Mara river is of course famous for the Wildebeest and Zebra crossings. Oddly enough a crossing elephant herd was my first true experience with the river. Amazingly the herd chose to climb an extremely steep bank, just where we where standing. They stayed and grazed around us and where so relaxed and curious just as this juvenile showed when got to the top.
