Wow the color of the horse is match up with the color of the boulders. Congratulations on your award!

Location
This photo was taken in Monument Valley National Park, Arizona while I was visiting there. I am a nature photographer and like to take photos of my surroundings as I travel.Time
This shot was taken early in the day, and being in the desert, the dry air made for a clear shot.Lighting
Monument Valley is a unique place where the surreal landscape has astonishing colors, especially hues of red. I was crossing a native reservation where this free-roaming horse passed in front of one of the spires. It inspired me from the many western movies I saw as a kid.Equipment
I was travelling in a dune buggy so leaned my camera against the frame of the vehicle for stability. Nothing special about the lens, but the bright light made for a very small aperture, thus good depth of field.Inspiration
The wild west! Freedom! Roaming in the vast expanse!Editing
Nothing much, other than slight sharpening of the image. In my camera bag
I carry my Canon 70D camera, a 100-400 L-series zoom lens and a Tamron zoom lens.Feedback
Open your eyes and look for the unusual, for the instant in time frozen in the capture.
