I took this photo at Harry Potter world, London, UK. Which I visited with my now husband and mum for my 21st birthday.Time
This was taken in the afternoon, as you could imagine there where alot of people visiting come the afternoon so it was quite fun playing with new angles and body positions to make sure there weren't any stray visitors getting in the way of my shot.Lighting
I stood here for a while as I wanted to capture part of the shadow from the clock to give another shade and depth to the photo. I also loved how I finally managed to get the golden light from the spot light to illuminate the edges of the shadow against the blue.Equipment
All I used was my now old camera body my Canon eos 20d. With a sigma 17-70mm lens.Inspiration
Well I very much enjoyed the Harry Potter books and films, I felt the need to try and take photos of Harry Potter world that were different to the usual photos taken there. I didn't want it to feel as if it was just oh yes that's hanging up in the studio, I wanted my photos from this place to have an interesting element when would make you take a second look.Editing
I cropped this image as I wanted it to be framed nicely within itself, I then enhanced the colours to get the blue and golden yellow/oranges to contrast each other at a nice balance. I also upped the sharpness slightly to give the shadow a little more show.In my camera bag
I usually go out with my two camera body's my Canon eos 20d and 40d, my sigma 17-70mm lens and my newest toy my Canon 70-200mm lens. And my tripod is usually in the boot of my car as a I just incase.Feedback
It's hard to advise on what others should take when it's the case of visiting somewhere where there are alot of people who go there (and do get in the way of your perfect shot) be prepared to improvise as a place as busy as Harry Potter world your not always going to be able to get the image you have in your mind due to other paying visitors, this does not mean however that you will not love the images you leave with! You will know what style you like as a photographer so try to stick with that even if it means you have some funny looks because you are putting yourself in some weird positions to capture the image you have seen in your head, because you are going to end up with something that is different and eye capturing.
