Location
This Cocker Spaniel, belongs to my veterinarian who was doing a house visit at the time. Her name is Kriya and she was patiently waiting in the van for him while he attended to my dogs. I snapped this when he opened the door. The plus to all this is that she is well trained and waited for me to take the shot.Time
This was just mid afternoon on a sunny day.Lighting
I live in the tropics, actually in Trinidad, so the natural sunshine would have been all the light needed at the time.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D3300 using a lens with a zoom of 55 - 300 mmInspiration
I am an amateur photographer and always try to have my camera on hand. I thought that this was the perfect opportunity. She was curiously looking out of the window and her eyes drew me to her.Editing
Because Kriya was sitting in the car, I had to lighten the photo a bit.In my camera bag
I carry around a Nikon D3300 with a 55 - 300 mm lens together with extra batteries. I also have with me a Canon Powershot SX50 HS which I absolutely love because of the great 50X zoom. It takes really great shots.Feedback
I find that with animals in particular, it is always better to use a zoom so as not to make them aware of your presence. They would therefore act naturally and these are the shots that I really enjoy taking.
