Location
I took this photo in Yosemite NPTime
I was there at the Merced river bend at sunrise time. It was too early and I had to wait an hour until the sun was actually rising behind the mountains.Lighting
It is only a very short timespan to take this picture between the sun to low and already to high again. So I had to hurry and took several pictures in a row. This one had less lens flares than others, therefore I chose this one.Equipment
I used my Sony a7 mirrorless full frame camera, my Sony Lens FE 24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS and of course a tripod.Inspiration
I was at the same spot the evening before at sunset and talked to fellow photographers there. They told me that it is also a very beautiful spot at sunrise and I decided to try it.Editing
I did some post-processing with Capture One. I added some clarity and lit up some of the shadows. In my camera bag
Sony a7 camera, FE 24-240mm F3.5-6.3 OSS lens, the Sony 28mm lens and 2 wide angle lenses to screw on 21 mm and 16 mm. A Pol and ND variable Filter.Feedback
Because of the mountains, the sun rises an hour later than indicated on ipills (iOS App). Be ready, there is little time to catch the right moment. It was in February, so the Merced River carried a lot of water and was therefore not so calm as I had wished it to be. The reflection of Half Dome would have been clearer in calmer water.
